Not every New years eve can be good!

Working all day during new years eve might not be my ideal dream way of celebrating New years eve and this was probably one of my worst celebrations so far, but i guess 14 hours of work will do that to you.

I had a 2 hour break between my shifts, and I spent those 2 hours on the beach, had a nice swim & drank a cold ice Mocha. That marked the beginning and end of my celebration for 2017, might not have been exactly how i planned to spend the last day of the year, but sometimes 2 hours is all you get.

Working on New years isn’t ideal and i believe most people will agree with me when I say it kind of sucks, especially when you’re understaffed, but instead of losing my mind thinking of all the negative aspects of it, I am trying to focus on why I am spending this new years eve working my ass of. It’s not to afford paying for rent, It’s not so I can afford to buy the newest iPhone and it’s not for the latest Prada bag.. So why? I am actively choosing to spend a new years eve working my ass off so that it can fund for my travel plans for the rest of the year. I am working 40-50(60-70) hour weeks so that i in the future can travel months without worrying about running low on money. I’m not gonna be satisfied working 7-4 5 days a week the whole year, every year simply to get a few weeks of work off during summer. No way! And besides, that’s one of the perks when working abroad, I can see the area around me while saving up money for my next adventure!

So what is my plan for 2018? Do i have one? Well.. i guess you just gotta keep checking in to find out, and re-live my adventures through my texts and pictures. I want to say thank you for everyone still popping in here and reading my blog, months after I first started. It means the world to me and I wish you all a very Happy new year and I truly hope 2018 will be a great year!
